Founder & Independent Dental Hygienist — Krystal Dental Hygiene, Fort York, Toronto
Hello! My name is Krystyna Korolchuk, and I am the founder and sole dental hygienist at Krystal Dental Hygiene, an independent practice located in the Fort York neighbourhood of downtown Toronto. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) licensed by the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO), with over eight years of clinical experience in preventive and cosmetic dental care.
I opened this clinic in July 2025 because I believe preventive dental care should be personal, unhurried, and accessible to everyone — without the need for a dentist referral, and without the assembly-line scheduling that has become so common in large dental offices. Here, every patient receives my full attention, the latest technology, and the time they deserve.
Born in Ukraine, raised in Argentina, and educated in Montreal, I have had the privilege of living across multiple cultures and learning several languages. This international background shapes how I care for my patients: with empathy, patience, and genuine connection.
From Montreal to Toronto — a journey of clinical excellence
I graduated in 2018 from the Dental Hygiene program at Collège de Maisonneuve in Montreal, Quebec, earning a Diploma in Dental Hygiene recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur. The program provided rigorous training in preventive dental care, periodontal therapy, radiography, oral pathology, and patient-centred communication.
After graduation, I worked alongside excellent dentists and orthodontists across Toronto, gaining experience in general dentistry as well as braces, Invisalign, and other orthodontic appliances. I also collaborate with trusted specialists — including periodontists and oral surgeons — for referrals when specialized care is needed beyond the scope of dental hygiene practice.
This broad clinical background gave me a deep understanding of how preventive care fits into the larger picture of oral health. It also showed me, firsthand, how rushed and impersonal hygiene visits can become in busy traditional dental offices — which is exactly why I chose to open my own independent practice.

Multilingual care for Toronto's diverse communities
Having grown up across three countries, I speak five languages fluently. This allows me to serve patients in the language they are most comfortable with — building trust, reducing anxiety, and ensuring that every patient fully understands their treatment.
"When I was growing up, I never would have imagined that speaking five languages would become one of the most important tools in my clinical practice. But in Toronto — one of the most multilingual cities in the world — it has allowed me to care for patients who might otherwise struggle to communicate their concerns, ask questions, or understand their treatment plan."

A different kind of dental hygiene experience
Since 2007, Ontario law has allowed registered dental hygienists to practice independently — meaning patients can book a cleaning, scaling, or whitening appointment directly, without needing to see a dentist first. I opened Krystal Dental Hygiene in July 2025 because I saw, over eight years of clinical experience, how rushed and impersonal hygiene visits could become in traditional dental offices.
In a busy dental office, a hygienist may see eight, ten, or more patients in a single day. Appointments are tightly scheduled, the pace is relentless, and the time you actually get with your hygienist is compressed. I did not want to practice that way. I wanted every patient to feel heard, informed, and cared for — not processed.
At my independent clinic, every appointment is intentionally unrushed. I see one patient at a time, in a calm, spa-like setting. There is no upselling, no pressure to add procedures you did not come in for, and no assembly-line schedule. My focus is exclusively on prevention and hygiene — cleanings, whitening, tooth gems, and the education that keeps your smile healthy between visits.

Comfort, transparency, and respect — every visit
My approach to dental hygiene is built on a few simple principles. First, comfort: dental visits can be anxiety-inducing for many people, and I believe that a calm, unrushed, and genuinely caring environment is essential. From the warm water used in the AIRFLOW® system to the longer, one-on-one appointments, every detail is designed to make you feel at ease.
Second, transparency: I want you to understand exactly what is happening during your appointment, why each step matters, and what you can do at home to maintain your results. There are no hidden fees, no surprise charges, and no pressure to add procedures you did not come in for. Every price is posted openly, and I will always explain your options before we begin.
Third, respect: for your time, your comfort, and your individual needs. Whether you are here for a routine cleaning, a whitening session that has been on your mind for months, or a first visit after years of avoiding the dentist, you will be treated with patience and care. Exceptional dental hygiene is about more than healthy teeth — it is about feeling relaxed, informed, and cared for from the moment you walk through our doors.
Staying current with evidence-based dental hygiene practice
Dental hygiene is a constantly evolving field, and I am committed to staying current with the latest evidence-based practices, technologies, and techniques. My continuing education includes the EMS Guided Biofilm Therapy certification, Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed provider training, and ongoing professional development through the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) and the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association (ODHA).
As a member of the CDHO, CDHA, and ODHA, I have access to current research, clinical guidelines, and professional development resources that help me provide the highest standard of care to my patients. This commitment to lifelong learning is part of what it means to be a regulated health professional — and it is a responsibility I take seriously.
