Getting Here from Harbourfront

Krystal Dental Hygiene is located at 614 Fleet Street, Suite 113, in the Fort York neighbourhood — directly north of the Harbourfront waterfront. The walk from Queens Quay West and Bathurst to our clinic takes approximately 7 minutes on foot, making us one of the closest dental hygiene practices to the Harbourfront strip.

🚶 Walking Route (7 minutes)

From the corner of Queens Quay West and Bathurst Street — by the 509/511 streetcar stop, the Billy Bishop ferry terminal entrance, and the lakefront promenade — head north on Bathurst. Cross Lake Shore Boulevard West at the traffic signal and continue up the slight rise; Fleet Street begins on your right just past the railway underpass. Turn right (east) onto Fleet Street and continue one block — our clinic at 614 Fleet Street, Suite 113 is on your left, across from the Fort York grounds. The entire route is on flat, paved sidewalks and takes under 10 minutes even from the Power Plant or the Music Garden at the western end of the quay.

🚌 By TTC Streetcar

Two streetcar lines connect Harbourfront to the clinic. The 509 Harbourfront streetcar runs west from Union Station along Queens Quay — exit at the Bathurst Street stop and walk 7 minutes north. The 511 Bathurst streetcar runs north-south along Bathurst — from Queens Quay, ride one stop north to Fleet Street and walk one block east. A streetcar ride plus walk totals 8 to 10 minutes, though most Harbourfront residents find the direct 7-minute walk up Bathurst faster than waiting.

🚗 By Car / From Billy Bishop Airport

Driving from Queens Quay takes approximately 3 minutes via Bathurst Street north to Fleet Street. Street parking is available along Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard. The Fort York National Historic Site visitor parking lot is a 2-minute walk from the clinic. Billy Bishop flyers: the airport ferry and pedestrian tunnel land at Bathurst and Queens Quay — from there it's a 7-minute walk to our door, ideal for a morning cleaning before an afternoon Porter flight. For weekend appointments, allow extra time for waterfront event traffic and lakefront festivals.

About Harbourfront: Toronto's Waterfront Neighbourhood

Harbourfront is the stretch of Toronto's central waterfront along Queens Quay West, running from York Street and the ferry docks in the east to Bathurst Street and the Toronto Music Garden in the west, between Lake Ontario and the rail corridor — placing our Fort York clinic directly on its northern boundary, one Bathurst block away.

What makes Harbourfront distinct is that it is both a destination and a home. Harbourfront Centre and Queens Quay Terminal host festivals, art openings, and summer weekend crowds; cruise boats and tour boats depart the docks daily; and the Martin Goodman Trail brings runners, cyclists, and rollerbladers past the water's edge at all hours. Meanwhile, the condo towers along the quay house full-time residents with a commuter's schedule — many flying out of Billy Bishop for work, others working from home with the lake as their backdrop. The neighbourhood's rhythm is seasonal: patio season from May to September, festival crowds every weekend, and quiet winter walks along the boardwalk.

Living here means coffee from lakeside cafes, wine on sunset cruises, and a social calendar built around the water — and all of it leaves traces on enamel. Harbourfront residents also tell us they postponed dental care during the busy years and now want a calm, gentle restart. That's exactly what our clinic specialises in: anxiety-friendly AIRFLOW cleanings with no scraping and no lectures, ZOOM! whitening before the weddings and cruises that fill the harbour calendar, and preventive care that fits between morning runs and afternoon flights. Harbourfront is bordered by Bathurst Quay to the west, CityPlace to the northwest, and the Entertainment District across the rail corridor to the north.

Harbourfront Landmarks You'll Recognize

If you live or work on the waterfront, you know these landmarks — and they're all within a short walk of our clinic. Here's how they connect to your visit to Krystal Dental Hygiene.

Harbourfront Centre

The cultural heart of the waterfront at York Quay — theatres, galleries, craft studios, and the summer festival calendar. Event photographers work these weekends all summer: book your ZOOM! session midweek and your smile is camera-ready by Saturday. From Harbourfront Centre, the clinic is a 15-to-20-minute walk west along Queens Quay, then north on Bathurst.

Queens Quay Terminal

The historic 1926 warehouse turned retail-and-office hub at the foot of York Street, with its lakefront promenade and weekend market stalls. Its offices and studios mean a professional crowd with weekday schedules — our 8 AM slots fit before the morning commute, and evening slots run until 8 PM. About a 20-minute walk or a short 509 streetcar ride to Bathurst.

Sugar Beach

The pink-umbrella urban beach at Queens Quay and Lower Jarvis, beside the iconic Redpath Sugar sign — a favourite lunch-break sun spot for waterfront workers. From Sugar Beach, the clinic is a 25-minute walk west along the quay, or one 509 streetcar plus a 7-minute walk up Bathurst.

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport

The island airport at the foot of Bathurst Street, reached by the 90-second ferry or the pedestrian tunnel — Porter's downtown gateway. Frequent flyers love our location: the clinic is a 7-minute walk from the airport entrance, so an 8 AM cleaning still leaves time for an 11 AM flight. Travellers tell us it's the most convenient pre-flight appointment in the city.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Krystal Dental Hygiene from Harbourfront?

Approximately a 7-minute walk north on Bathurst Street from Queens Quay West. From the eastern end of Harbourfront near the ferry docks, budget 15 to 20 minutes on foot. The clinic at 614 Fleet Street, Suite 113 is in the Fort York neighbourhood, directly north of the waterfront.

Can I get to the clinic from Harbourfront by TTC?

Yes. The 509 Harbourfront streetcar runs along Queens Quay from Union Station — exit at Bathurst and walk 7 minutes north. The 511 Bathurst streetcar stops at Fleet Street, one block from the clinic. Most Harbourfront residents find the direct walk up Bathurst faster than waiting for a streetcar.

I'm nervous and haven't had a cleaning in years — is this clinic right for me?

Yes — this is one of our specialities. Krystyna regularly welcomes first-time and anxious patients who have postponed dental care for years. AIRFLOW Guided Biofilm Therapy uses a warm water and erythritol powder spray instead of scraping, so the experience is gentle and comfortable. Appointments are unrushed, one-on-one, with music, blankets, and a calm studio atmosphere.

Can I stop by before a flight from Billy Bishop Airport?

Yes. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is at the foot of Bathurst Street on Queens Quay — a 7-minute walk from the clinic. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM. Morning travellers can book an early 8 AM cleaning or whitening session and still make an afternoon Porter flight with time to spare.

Can I get ZOOM! whitening before a cruise or waterfront wedding?

Yes. A single Philips ZOOM! WhiteSpeed session takes 60 to 90 minutes and delivers up to 8 shades lighter — ideal before cruises departing the harbour, waterfront weddings, or summer events at Harbourfront Centre. Book a few days before your event for maximum impact. Whitening touch-ups are also available for maintaining results between full sessions.

Do I need a dentist referral to get a cleaning?

No. Since 2007, Ontario law allows registered dental hygienists to practice independently. You can book a cleaning, scaling, or whitening appointment directly at Krystal Dental Hygiene without any dentist referral — no prior dental records required.

Is there parking near the clinic?

Street parking is available along Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard. The Fort York National Historic Site visitor parking lot is a short walk away. That said, the 7-minute walk up Bathurst from Queens Quay is typically faster than driving and finding parking, especially on busy waterfront weekends.

Does Krystal Dental Hygiene accept CDCP?

Yes. We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Harbourfront residents who qualify based on adjusted family net income can use CDCP coverage for preventive dental hygiene services including cleanings and scaling. We submit claims directly on your behalf — learn more on our CDCP page.
